Things be moving….

I recently had the pleasure of viewing “Stranded in Canton” By William Eggleston, it is a piece of film shot by Eggleston in 1973 and captures the amazing weirdness and diversity of Memphis during this time, from beatniks and blues players, to crazy petrol station attendants and shotgun wielding friends! Eggleston usually a still photographer never experimented with film again after this project, but it happens to be one of my favourite pieces of work by him that i have seen.
Watching this piece inspired me to go out and work on my own video project, and taking idea’s from a rather awful recurring dream that i have been having where i am always nearly blind, and having trouble seeing everything, i set out with a video camera and began filming, this initial idea has now turned into a video project called “12 21” the name is taken from the time it takes for me to complete the journey captured in the film, the idea of the film is to show the crossing over from the concious world to the dream world, and shows the confusion and difficulty with vision that i have been experiencing in my dreams, so far only the first edit of this film has been completed but i will keep you all up to date with how it is coming along and also provide you all with a link when it is available on the internet
For now, here is the first Edit of the film 🙂
